The 5 year plan

Sometime when I was younger (maybe around junior high?) I devoloped seasonal allergies. You all know what they're like...runny nose, scratchy throat, itchy eyes...lots of fun! It really takes some of the fun out of my favorite time of year!

Well, when I moved from Washington to Montana--my allergies went away!!! It was hard to believe, but I just thanked God for that extra little blessing. All was great for a time. Then after living there about five years, my allergies came back. It was all of a sudden, and they came back with a vengence! I'm not a big fan of allergy medications because of some of their side effects, but I would faithfully take them when needed; after all, they do take care of the symptoms!

Last year we moved to Texas at the beginning of summer. No allergies for me! I was pleasantly surprised, and naturally assumed that I was on the five year plan again.

How wrong I was!!!

This week, my allergies came back once again! I can't quit sneezing, I can hardly wear eye make-up because my eyes are so puffy, and there aren't a lot of allergy medicines that I can use while I'm pregnant! I want the five year plan back!

So sorry about all the sniffles...but THANKS so much for coming out today and spending time here. We love having you come visit. MAYBE it is just a cold and not allergies...I hope so! Love you!

I feel for you with your allergies.
We are dealing with that here too.
Derek has allergies. We had to do some doctoring with him this year.
Plus I think Megan and I have allergies too. I(well we all do) have the itching nose, runny nose, stuffiness, sneezing.
Hope you are feeling better.

Yeah, I feel your pain!! This is the worst year for allergies yet!
My OB said I can have Claritin or Benadryl... so I was taking Benadryl (begrudgingly, hoping it would help) just at night, to get some sleep... but of course didn't want to take it during the day... but it got so bad I went and got some Claritin... it seems to be helping.. I took it for two days and it was lovely... then I thought, "I can go without it, maybe the worst has past"... ha!! Last night my eyes were red and swollen again... so back on the Claritin I went... ask your OB about it... it's helping a lot.

What are those blue flowers? They are gorgeous!

I did not have allergies until I moved to the south and the doc told me if you don't have them you'll eventually get em living here. Thanks! :-)

So sorry--bummer!

Heard about Kelly's mom and just saw your post. I feel so bad! Our thoughts and prayers are with them!

i don't know if i have allergies, i know, i know, you're thinking, "if you don't know then you DON'T!". and i'll go with that. i have seasonal asthma though...i think. wake up unable to breathe, work-outs becomes a test of my life, that kind of thing.

it seems like any time someone has a sore throat of watery eyes anymore though it's assumed that it's allergies...people even say that about my kids. we don't seem "sick" or anything.

anyway, this wasn't about me was it? anytime you are suffering during pregnancy with outside issues it really stinks. especially since there is so little that you can take to relieve it. i'll pray for you:-)
