What the . . . . ?

So I wasn't going to post this one, but I suppose I will. I think I had hoped it was a passing thing, or a one time only thing. How wrong I was!

Sam and I both have a habit of saying "What the heck?" in moments of surprise or whatever. I'd like to think that I would never say such a thing in front of my children, but since Henry picked up that phrase last week I can't really deny my involvement. I told Henry that it wasn't really a nice thing to say, and that Mommy and Daddy would try not to say it anymore too. He accepted that, but he's been trying to find a good substitution.

So far, Henry has come up with "What the Lord?" and "What the gosh?" Neither one is exactly my favorite.

Well, I'd like to wish my readers (all three of you that actually read my blog!) a very Merry Christmas! I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a happy, joyful Christmas day! :)

That is too funny! Very cute picture too. Kids pick up everything, don't they? I got really upset at Lily the other day and told her, "Lily, please shut up." (Not my finest moment.) She ran and told on me to Rod. "Daddy, Mommy said shut up!" I was busted!

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!!!!

Glad to know I'm not the only one that has slipped up with shut-up. :)

Ashley's new word is Mayonnaise. That works. :)

On a sidenote, I just asked David how to spell mayonnaise. He opened the fridge and said, "M-I-R-A-C-L-E-W-H-I-P". I wouldn't make it around here without my little Webster's consise dictionary.:)

The worst ever for me was when I heard my then three year old daughter say "jack***"! I came around the corner with SHOCK on my face and said "WHERE DID YOU HEAR SUCH A TERRIBLE WORD?"

She said, "On Pinnoccio"(sp). I didn't believe her of course...but it's there! I explained what it really was and that unless we were talking about a donkey we should never say that word.

She seemed to understand until one evening we were watching EWTN (our Catholic network) and a priest was re-telling the Nativity story and he said, "...and Mary rode into Bethlehem on a jack***..." she looked up at me and said, "mommy, it's not a bad word, the Priest just called Mary a jack***."
