One classy guy...

Tony Dungy (head coach of the Colts) had this to say during the trophy ceremony after leading his team to a Super Bowl victory:

"I'm proud to be the first African-American coach to win this. But again more than anything, Lovie Smith and I are not only African-American but also Christian coaches, showing you can do it the Lord's way. We're more proud of that."

Our local paper had 3-4 pages dedicated to various super bowl stories. This one stood out to me, and I haven't been able to forget it today, so I thought I'd share it with you. The quote above inspires me, and makes me wonder--do I always give God the glory in everything I do? I wish I could say yes, but it's surely something that I need to work on.

That was very cool!

I love it that Lovie Smith is from Big Sandy. I thought it was so fun how the superbowl was so "hometown" to us this year. The local stories were great!

Your post is really true, my husband loved that as well. Is Big Sandy between Tyler and Mt Pleasant?

Both coaches received my full respect and cheers. Classy guys, making a difference and being a light in the world.

Ginger, you'd have to ask Beth on that one! I don't have any idea where Big Sandy is! I wouldn't have even known it was close except for all the articles in the paper!
