Baby Names

We are currently contemplating names for our bundle of joy who is coming soon! For some reason, boy names have always come much more easily to us both, and we tend to struggle with a "perfect" girl name.

Well, now the pressure is on! We're pretty sure that we've got a girl in here, but no names at the top of the list.

Sam thought we might get some inspiration by asking our local expert on most matters: Henry. Please remember that his last favorite name for a girl was "McDonald's."

After giving it some thought, he came up with this gem: Tochwa!

I'm not sure if I'm spelling it correctly, but I just tried to sound it out. He pronounces it Touch-Wah. Sam and I both thought he was just being silly, but he came up with it on Wednesday and hasn't forgotten it yet!

I don't think we're going to let Henry name this baby! :)

Yea I learned kids naming the baby just doesn't work. Although Touchwah or McDonalds might work...you could call her Mc for short. Okay still sounds like a boy...you better name her.

We named Alicia and Jenna yet Lindsey still renamed both of them.."Nay-nay-Ray-ka-boodie" and "Dar-dar-tay-serah" The Nay-Nay stuck for quite some time with Alicia (her middle name is Renee), but we put a quick stop to the Jenna knickname :) Lindsey spoke really young and had quite the imagination.
They tell me that's what happens when I mother talks all the time :)

Lindsey and I were talking on the phone as I was reading your post. We were both laughing at this. She remembered the names she came up with for her sisters. Much success in naming your new babe. Lindsey thinks Henry is a great name, by the way!

Alex says you should name your daughter either Alexanderbaby or Jasmine.

I tried to send you a cute little read about names, but I guess your email has changed, oh well.
My favorite girls name is Jubilee. Dave said, "No". Alicia had a really close friend with that name.
I guess it's a good thing we aren't having any more babies :(

Congratulations on your soon to be newest member...Emily wanted to name Noah, 'House House'. Jason and I really loved it (hah!) but just couldn't get ourselves to call such a cute thing something like that. You asked about Emily's meaning...I wanted a little helper. Emily means, 'Industrious One'. I had a miscarriage before Em. We chose Jane (my gramma's middle name) for Em's middle name. It means, 'Gracious Gift of God'. We both felt like the meanings were important, not just how names sounded...The other option Jason had chosen for Noah was Jude. It means praise, so it was either 'Crowned in Peace' or 'Crowned in Praise'. I'll pray for you and your husband to name your child exactly who God intends. He'll show you!

No more babies coming to our house anymore - but ever since I was little I wanted a girl named Sacha - except Poppa Roar never went for it. I remember reading a book in elementary school and one of the characters had that name. I love to read, so I thought it was a fitting name :)

We are having a hard time, too. Actually I KNOW what it will be, and I usually get my way, but Kevin has yet to give it 100% approval. Katherine (Katie) Faith Gullickson... Morgen's middle name is Grace, so Faith is to go along with that, and now I wish we would have gone with Joy for Emily's middle name! So Katherine Faith means "pure, powerful faith"... perfect!
We had a boy's name picked out, but I guess we won't get to use it, now.

How are you feeling? Are you getting kicked a lot?
