We spent today packing up for our Florida vacation. We leave tomorrow (YAY!), so we had to pack clothes, clean up the van and house, stop by the library, get the buckets and shovels out of storage, and all that sort of thing. We were BUSY all day long, crossing things off our list one by one.
Throughout the day, the kids were bouncing off the walls and I had a hard time keeping them on task. They are super excited about the trip! Each one made me laugh out loud at one time or another. I thought it would be fun to post some of their one-liners from today:
"Be careful. Or be roadkill." Over and over and over again, in the way that only an 11 year old could repeat himself.
"Dad ought to Jim Hogg the front pasture so the goats can see over the top of the grass!" Funny to be because the actual term is "brush-hog" but we have a local street named Jim Hogg. :)
While scratching an ant bite on her thigh, "I hate having bites up that alley!"
I'm so thankful for my kids and their enthusiasm for life. They see most things as an adventure, and I'm inspired by them every day. I've heard the quote about how you should try to be the person your dog already thinks you are....and I really aspire to be the person that my children already think I am.
(Thanks Katie, for the encouragement and challenge to blog again. It's nice to slow down and reflect on the moments that make up this beautiful life. :) )
