Our little Cubbie

Henry has recently started doing Awana every week at our church. His class (the three year olds) is called Cubbies. My husband did Awana as a kid and LOVED it. I was never a part of it, so I've been pretty excited to learn more about it. Henry is SO excited about it, and can't wait to go every week!

Henry had to memorize four bible verses the first two weeks, and that earned him a vest, a work book, and a special book bag. Then the next week he memorized two more verses and earned his first patch for his vest.

This is such a fun program, and I am so glad that we have the opportunity to be a part of it. Henry is so eager to work on his bible verses and is just thrilled to share when someone asks him to repeat one! Way to go Henry! We're so proud of you.

I have always wanted to get Emily involved in Awanas, but scheduling never worked out...

Way to go, Henry! It's so awesome to see kids excited about the Word!

Our girls all took part in a similar group when they were young. Our church did not offer such a group so we allowed the girls to go to one at my parents church or with friends at their churches. Dave and I both taught groups like this before we had kids and loved it! It's so rewarding for kids and a good fellowship time as well. I can't believe they start kids as young as Henry..wow! How exciting. It's a great thing!

I saw your post on our Little Cubbie and had to comment. What a cute picture!!
Our son Derek is in Cub Scouts also...he is a Wolf.
He is in 2nd grade. What grade is your little guy in.
I agree with Ginger it is rewarding and it is a fun activity for them to be in as Mom and/or Dad is always there at every meeting with him and enjoying and learning right along with him.
