Not quite how we had planned for our new year to begin....

It might look like a normal evening, playing cards with Jon and Kelly......

.....cards, snacks, lots of diet coke.

The thing that makes this night unusual is the location of my husband.....

Not content with just spending all day on New Year's Day in the emergency room, Sam thought it might be fun to spend a couple nights in the hospital to cap off the week.
Sam had a minor out-patient surgery a few weeks ago. There have been a few unexpected complications and he had to have an emergency surgery on Sunday morning. He is doing fine and is expected to make a full recovery.
He has a pain pump attached to his bed and a table full of junk food--I think he'll make it.

All joking aside, please do pray for Sam. My husband is a real go-getter (always moving) and it is VERY difficult for him to be confined to a hospital bed. Please pray that he would keep his spirits up and that his body would heal quickly. And that he would be patient with the nursing staff! :)

By the way...I'm praying for your sanity!

Why do I have a feeling the nurses are going to love this guy?

I couldn't figure out what kind of table you were playing cards on. Little did I know...

Best wishes for a quick healing to your precious man. Some guys will do anything to get their picture posted on your blog, hehe.

Yes, yes, I will be praying for Sam to get better soon! ANd also that someone will keep providing him with junk food while he's there! I do love the photos of him.

Wow, that looks a lot like my husband before Christmas and again just last weekend. I do hope he is doing well now and recovering quickly.

I think I checked out your blog a looong time ago, but I just now clicked on your link on my sister, Jennifer's, page to check it out again, and I just had to comment since I was in a similar position as you!

I have a blog as well - www.h-r-ourfamily.blogspot.com so you can go check out who is writing this to you right now :) If you want to!

Thanks for the comment - I am glad to hear your husband is doing well now!
My husband, too, is feeling (and looking) much better.
Other than the scheduled surgery in March, we are believing that no more unexpected hospitalizations come our way. I pray the same for your husband.

God Bless
