blogging rambling...

I'm a secret blogger. Besides my family (including my sister-in-law,--who got me started on blogging, but now doesn't seem to post anymore--Beth) none of my local friends knows that I blog.

It's not that it is a secret, exactly, it's just that I haven't shared it. Or I haven't thought they would be interested. Or maybe I just like to compartmentalize my life (here are my 'real life' friends, over there are my blogging friends, and so on....).

The reasons don't matter so much. My point is that I recently told two of my friends about my blog. And they wanted to read it. One of them has even started her own blog (go, Andrea!) and the other has tried a few recipes off of my recipe blog.

So here's to going public, so to speak! :)

And a question for you who are reading this blog....Do your 'real life' friends know about your blog?

Everyone in the small community I live in seems to know about my blog. Even people whom I thought would have no interest in reading it, are actually reading it.

Here's something mildly scary: Someone whom I had never met before (but who attends the church I go to) asked if I was "Just Mom." S-t-r-a-n-g-e, to say the least.

I blogged for over a year and no one that I knew even seemed to care. I had one or two family members that read my page, but that was it.

At one point someone that I work with began to read it. She would bring up things I wrote at the most inapporpiate times and it really bothered me. That is when I finally changed my blogging address.

Today I have Michigan friends who read, but I do not interact with them on a personal basis other than meeting each other for a lunch.

I really prefer it that way. I don't want to be under a microscope by those who really know me. My blogging friends seem to be much more tolerant of me :o)

My sister-in-law (who I am very close to) and a few friends know that I have a blog, but I've decided not to share it(location) with them yet. I wanted a place where I could express my feelings without everyone knowing what’s going on in my life. I have been tempted to share it, but then the feeling passes. Kat is the only person that I know in real life.

Also, I wanted to keep my family’s names and location unknown to readers who I didn’t know. “Didn’t know” meaning, people who read my blog, but never leaves a comment. Also, I feel this would be harder to do if my family and friends were reading my blog.

By the way, I meant to tell you that I love your new profile photo…Bridget and you, very cute pic!

. . . even though I don't post so much anymore, I still read everyone's through my rss reader—and I for one just LOVE it when I see there is a new one from you! : )

I really do want to get back to posting—life has just gotten so very busy with the house and school issues of late. It was great seeing you guys the other night. I'm hoping we can get together again soon!
